Ray Stewart, a native of West Virginia, served in the Navy during World War II and received degrees from Denver University and Syracuse University. Stewart was hired by WOI-TV at Iowa State University as a television producer/director in 1952. He served as a researcher, cinematographer, and narrator, as well as film editor and scriptwriter for the series, "Know Your State Institutions," which was eventually broadcast at "In Our Care."
